Do's and don't of the insurance business.
Thought I'd put together a small list of things you may know, but need to be said. Please follow rules of good business. 1) CHECK YOUR PHONE MESSAGES OFTEN. Often means more than once a day. 2) ALWAYS return phone calls on a prompt basis. That does not mean tomorrow. It means now. It means more than once daily. If they are not home, LEAVE THEM A MESSAGE, EACH TIME YOU CALL, WITH YOUR PHONE NUMBER. ( Remember, they take the Phone number from their bill, hence they call my office.

3) Leaving a message that you are out of town is not good enough. You must still ck your messages daily, as I forward messages to you. If you are working out of town, ck your messages daily. It is easy to call the client, and tell them that you will return their call when you are in your office... You own a business; it does not close. 4) Advertising works. Use professional advertising and media to promote yourself. If you look cheezy on paper, they will not deal with you, so do a professional job with your advertising. Your signs and ads portray the image of you. Send pre approach. 5) Each client is important. Treat people the same way you would like to be treated by your financial planner. Make them feel important, not a burden. What goes around comes around.
