S.T.O.P.P.ED Program to save lives in Erie County

S.T.O.P.P.E.D. stands for "Sheriff's Telling Our Parents and Promoting Educated Drivers” This program was started by a Sheriff from Onondaga County. Erie County is now the 7th county in NY State to begin this program.  The Independent Insurance Agents Association of WNY and the Sheriff Timothy B. Howard and the Erie County Sheriff’s Department are working together to save lives in Erie County.

This program is strictly voluntary. It works in conjunction with the Erie County Sheriff's dept.

If you are a parent with a youthful driver and you want to be made aware any time your child is pulled over for a traffic violation, you should sign up for this program

Parents complete a form and are given a sticker to put on their vehicle. Should an Erie Co Sheriff pull over their child for a traffic violation, the parents will be notified of the details and what the child was ticketed for.

The objectives of the program are to save lives and make youthful operators safer drivers.

Lester Robinson is the Chairman of the S.T.O.P.P.ED Program for Erie County.

To find a location in Erie County to get a form go to WWW.WNYAGENT.COM, WWW.ERIE.GOV/SHERIFF and any Sheriff Office in Erie County.
