Dear Friends and Family,

I recently accepted the challenge to raise $3,600 for cancer research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute by participating in their Team Cure Orlando Challenge. I made this decision for several reasons: first was to fulfill a personal ambition. I have always wanted to run a marathon or complete a triathlon, I now have time in my life that I can train for such an event. My personal goal for this event is to finish in less than 4 hours and 30 minutes. Secondly, I want to set an example to my teenage children – a demonstration that one can set high goals, and with dedication and hard work achieve those goals. Finally, I want to help raise money for a disease that has been so devastating to family members and friends. I, like you, have witnessed first hand how cancer destroys lives. Therefore, I have decided to turn what started as a personal physical objective to run a marathon, into a larger mission of raising money for this terrible disease.

To reach my $3,600 goal and compete in Walt Disney World, I need your help. Perhaps you know someone with cancer - a friend, a family member, a colleague, an employee. The fact is that one out of three Americans will be diagnosed with cancer in a lifetime. Cancer affects everyone -- rich and poor, young and old. It is the leading cause of death from disease in children ages 1 to 14.
